Toby Reich is a NYS licensed speech and language pathologist and a NYS certified school building leader. She earned her degrees, with honors, from Queens College of the City University of New York.

Toby began her career as a speech and language pathologist in the hospital setting, where she treated children from the age of one year to adults well into their eighties. Her work at a hospital gave her knowledge and experience needed to treat a wide range of childhood speech and language disorders including articulation delays and disorders, developmental language delay, and disorders due to neurological impairment such as cerebral palsy.

Her experience also gave her the training necessary to treat adults in need of speech and language rehabilitation due to stroke, cancer, and traumatic brain injury. Toby’s experience allowed her to become a consultant speech pathologist in special education private schools and a related service provider for mainstreamed students with speech and language difficulties.

Toby continued her work with adults by consulting in a local nursing home. In 2001, Toby transitioned to pediatric speech pathology full time and eventually grew her practice into a full service agency.

In September of 2010, Toby decided to return to graduate school and she received a post-graduate certificatein Educational Leadership in May of 2012. Toby took a full-time position as a Senior Curriculum Coordinator (Assistant Principal) at a 16 classroom special education private pre-school and school age program in New York City. Besides ensuring a high quality instruction for 180 students, Toby also led professional development trainings for staff as well as trainings for parents.

Equipped with extensive knowledge of curriculum and classroom instruction methodology, Toby has returned to her passion as a specialist in speech and language, providing evaluations and therapy services for children of all ages.

In February 2016, Toby began teaching in the undergraduate department of Linguistics and Communication Disorders at Queens College (CUNY).
